How to

1. First examine the back of the DVD. Some scratches, too deep or large, can be fatal.

This is not the case with small ones, which will alter its quality without rendering it unusable. These are the ones we will deal with.

2. Rinse the DVD in slightly soapy water to remove particles that could scratch it again.

3. Then place the disc shiny side up, on a fabric as smooth and soft as possible, a chamois leather for example.

4. Spread the toothpaste generously with your index finger over the entire reflective part, drawing circles, then leave to stand for 5 minutes.

5. Finally rinse the DVD with clean water, taking care that there is no toothpaste left.

6. Dry it carefully using paper towels or a handkerchief only, any fabric could hide small particles that could scratch our DVD again.

There you go, the scratches on your CD or DVD are gone :-)

Simple, practical and efficient. Not to mention that this trick is very economical.
