And now you have a trash can like new!

If the trash can is particularly dirty and smells very bad...

Use a solution of soda crystals and hot water, instead of washing up liquid.

Put 1 glass of soda crystals per liter of water.

Pour in enough mix to soak the bottom of the bin for at least 30 minutes.

Very effective in eliminating bad odors in the outdoor bin, whether plastic or stainless steel.

Additional advice

How To Easily Clean Large Smelly Outdoor Trash Cans.

- remember to clean the container right after collecting it from the city so that the bin is empty. If that's not possible that day, make sure to store the garbage bags elsewhere while cleaning.

- if you can, put your vegetable waste in a composter. You save space in the trash, and in addition this waste is recycled to feed your plants.

- if not, put leftover food (fruit peels, fish heads) in an airtight bag and place them in the freezer until the day of garbage collection.

- put the bin in a cool or shady place, but not in the garage if there are odors.

- if you can stand the smell (and have a big enough vehicle), take your trash to a car wash.
