1. Deep clean your oven

Deposits and dirt are common in your oven.

There's an easy way to deep clean it with this grandma's recipe.

In a spray bottle, add half of warm water and a maximum of baking soda until the grains of baking soda no longer dissolve.

Spray the solution on all parts of the oven and leave to act for at least a few hours or overnight for maximum efficiency.

Then wipe the walls with a sponge moistened with water or, even better, white vinegar or lemon juice with a little baking soda.

Finally, rinse with water and dry the treated areas.

2. Maintain all kitchen surfaces

The worktop, sink and dining table should be cleaned regularly.

For this, nothing better than using baking soda! Why?

Because it cleans in depth without scratching surfaces and without any chemicals!

Bicarbonate has a granulated texture allowing it to be abrasive without scratching your food surfaces.

Its properties allow it, as soon as the grains dissipate, to easily dissolve fats and organic substances.

For maximum effectiveness, sprinkle baking soda on a damp sponge or cloth then rub the affected areas.

Rinse and resume sprinkling as soon as the grains disappear.

3. Collect burnt pots and pans

Did you burn the bottom of your pot or pan?

No need to throw it away, we'll explain how to make up for your mistake quickly.

Sprinkle the bottom of your pan with 10 to 20 g of baking soda (2 to 4 teaspoons), pour boiling water over it and leave to act for 2 to 8 hours.

Thanks to the bicarbonate, the water reaches the burnt layer more easily, acts effectively on the charred proteins and dissolves the fats.

If traces of burning persist, you can boil the water and baking soda for a few minutes in the same proportions.

The sodium bicarbonate then turns into sodium carbonate, an even more powerful substance.

Please note that this trick is not suitable for aluminum utensils.

4. Easily clean your ceramic hobs

Baking soda is particularly suitable for cleaning ceramic hobs without scratching the glass.

It will have both a mechanical and a molecular effect on this type of surface.

Here are 3 ways to do it:

- Sprinkle baking soda on your plates previously wetted with water and leave to act for a few hours. You can then easily remove impurities with a wooden spatula and above all avoid using the abrasive green side of a sponge.

- Pour white vinegar on your plates then sprinkle the whole with baking soda. A chemical reaction occurs, but don't panic, it's harmless. This process increases the effectiveness of bicarbonate.

- Pour baking soda on a sponge on the soft side then rub your plates. To intensify the effect, you can add a little white vinegar or lemon juice to the sponge.

5. For an even more efficient dishwasher

Do you want to halve the amount of detergent you put in your dishwasher (powder or tablets)?

Do you also want a product that increases the efficiency of your machine and allows you to maintain it by protecting it against limescale?

Well, it's quite possible with this grandmother's trick. How and why?

Simply add 15 g (1 tablespoon) of baking powder to your tray and half of your usual detergent.

The properties of bicarbonate make it easier to dissolve grease, better remove organic deposits and above all to increase the effectiveness of your detergent, because it neutralizes limescale.

6. Deodorize the fridge

Is your fridge subject to some unpleasant odors when you open it (cheese, sauces...)?

We give you Grandma's trick to deodorize it easily!

Take a bowl and pour 100 g (1/2 glass or 6 tablespoons) of baking soda into it.

Place the bowl at the top of your fridge near the vent and stir the solution occasionally.

The porous texture of the baking soda associated with the air helps to stop foul odors (especially acrid odors).

For maximum effectiveness, replace the powder every 3 months.

Bonus:smother a fire in a frying pan

You wanted to start the recipe for pancakes flambéed with rum and it ended with a small fire in the kitchen?

Don't panic, we'll give you Grandma's trick to resolve the situation before calling the fire department.

Throw baking soda powder at the base of the flames, as its properties allow it to turn into water at around 60 degrees.

Be careful, however, in the event of a large outbreak...

...This trick obviously does not exempt you from having a small fire extinguisher at home!
