What you will need

- large microfiber cloth

- rubber bands

- white vinegar

- empty spray bottle

- broom

Step 1

Place two rubber bands on the broomstick.

And drag them to the base of the broom.

The broom brush must be able to pass through the rubber bands.

It works great if you have a small broom.

Step 2

Now lay the microfiber cloth flat on the floor.

And put the mop on the microfiber cloth.

The broom brush should not exceed half of the cloth.

Step 3

Fold over the end of the microfiber cloth that remains on the broom.

Use one of the rubber bands and wrap it around the thinnest part.

If you want to do a double wrap, the elastic should be close to the end.

Place the second rubber band around the broom brush a few inches from the first rubber band.

There you go, you are now armed to clean all the skirting boards in your house without bending down :-)

The spacing between the two rubber bands depends on the size of the broom.

So, space them out so that the cloth holds well.

Step 1

Place the broom on the baseboard at a 30 degree angle.

And move from left to right as you clean the top of the plinth.

Step 2

You can use the sides of the brush to clean the wide part of the baseboard or the bottom of the broom. It's just as effective.

If the microfiber cloth hasn't caught all the dust, it may fall to the floor.

Then simply vacuum the tiles, carpet or parquet.

Step 3

To clean the corners of the room, just use the end of the broom.

Can't reach it with the microfiber cloth?

So, shift it a few centimeters. And then you can use the broom to reach the corner.

You can mix one part white vinegar and one part water in a spray bottle.

The right proportion is 50% white vinegar and 50% water.

Then you can spray your cleaning product either directly on the baseboard or on the cloth.

How to avoid the accumulation of dust on the baseboards?

How often to clean baseboards?

To prevent your baseboards from looking too greasy, you can use this trick to clean them once a week.

This prevents dust from accumulating... Especially in the corners.

How to whiten skirting boards?

Over time, the color of the baseboard begins to change. It's unavoidable.

Just take the sheet in one hand and pass it over the baseboard.

Any dust in there will cling to the wipe.

4. Broom or brush

You can of course use a simple broom to clean the baseboards.

Just use the broom and remove as much dust as possible.

But it's not as effective as when you add the microfiber cloth to it.

5. Baby wipes

Using baby wipes to clean baseboards is a great tip for several reasons.

They can remove as much dirt or dust as possible from the baseboards.

It also restores shine to the paint on the skirting board, which can tarnish.
