A Design Photo Holder to Make in 10 Minutes!

A Design Photo Holder to Make in 10 Minutes!

Making a design photo holder yourself in about ten minutes, c is within everyone's reach, all from a single metal cable and a minimum of equipment.

Here's the trick.

10 minutes is the time I took (excluding the purchase of equipment) to make this modern and ultra-solid photo holder.

Its main advantages:it is aesthetic, only 2 holes made to be able to hang a large number of photos that I invert when I want.

What you need

- 2.20 m of steel cable having between 1 and 2 mm in diameter.

-2 cable ties of adapted size (to that of the cable), there are several kinds:flat, "stirrup", and others still (see link). It is a question of choosing according to the cost and the desired effect. Depending on the type of cable tie chosen, bring the appropriate tool :pliers, pipe wrench...

- 2 suitable screws and 2 dowels , to better choose them it is possible to consult this link.

So far these purchases have cost me less than 5€ at the local hardware store, the rest of the material can easily borrow from handymen.

-1 cutting pliers .

- A drill-driver , or a drill and a suitable screwdriver. As usual I borrow this type of material from a neighbor.

How to

1. Choose first the location of the photo holder, both in height and in length, and mark the future locations of the screws using a level or a meter if necessary.

2. Drill , then press the ankles then the screws . Do not screw to the maximum at first.

3. At one end of the cable, create a first loop (see image) using the cable clamp, adjust the size of the loop according to the desired effect.

4. Skip the loop created in the previous step around one of the two screws , then tighten by screwing to the maximum this time.

5. At the other end cable, create a second loop repeating step 3, pass this loop around the second screw and adjust the tension of the cable using the cable tie.

6. Final step: using the cutting pliers , cut unnecessary ends that protrude too long from the loop created by the cable ties for a better rendering.

That's it, all we have to do is hang our photos on our brand new DIY photo holder. Several possible ideas:magnets , clothes pegs or document clips will have their effect.
