The 5 Essential Iphone Apps For DIYers!

Today new technologies can often replace our classic tools . To measure, illuminate, level... Here is the list of some practical applications for iPhone, free and paid, which will help you in your DIY projects.

To help me when I'm getting ready to tinker, I've found a few applications which often allow me to not open my toolbox ! Obviously nothing affordable will ever have the precision of a classic meter, and my phone will never be able to serve me as a hammer... But these 5 applications are always useful to me in the first stages of DIY.

3 Free Applications

The free apps often have only one function or allow you to discover more successful paid applications. Here is the list of the ones that I use most often :

1 - Flashlight :Several applications bear this name and are equivalent to each other. The key is that the one you choose mobilizes the flash of your phone and not his screen. Very useful for seeing in corners, under your sink, your car...

2 - iHandy lite level :Spirit level that can be calibrated if you desire it. It ensures that a surface is horizontal or vertical, like any spirit level you might say. This is the discovery version, that is enough but the purchase of the paid version will be necessary to discover its other features.

3 - Photo Measure lite :An application that allows you to note measurements on your photos , to add notes and comments, with a magnifying glass which is available for more precision. Very practical for your room layout projects, ideal for avoiding having to draw complicated plans.

2 Paid Applications

1 - Dimensions (0.99 €):This is a multi-tasking application very aesthetically pleasing. There are several features like a very precise measuring tape in millimeters, a tool for evaluating the distance between two walls, another allowing you to place measurements on your photos...

2 - App Tools 16 in 1 ($0.99):Another all-in-one app . 16 tools, from the level to the compass via the calculator or the converter. Many tools quite useful. Language:English, but it is possible to calibrate in metric measurements easily.

This is very useful, but if you know of other useful applications or wish to give an opinion on one of these, tell me in a comment.
