How I Made a Tunic Without Spending a Penny.

How I Made a Tunic Without Spending a Penny.

Sarongs are worn in the summer at the beach, we collect them and then we store them at the top of a closet for the following summer. But here is a very simple way to reuse them by using them to make a tunic, original and easy to make.

The idea came to me one day while tidying up a shelf:the fabric of this sarong I really liked it, and I thought it a shame to have to wait until July to wear it again over my swimsuit. I guarantee you that I'm bad at sewing, but making this tunic is very simple , and the result is really nice. Besides, my daughter copied and made the same one... with one of her sarongs!

Materials Needed

. 1 pareo

. 1 pair of scissors notches

. 1 needle

. thread (color according to the chosen fabric)

User Manual

1. I fold the sarong in two.

2. On the side of the fold and in the middle, I cut an opening approximately 25 cm wide in the shape of an isosceles triangle.

3. I sew the sides starting from the bottom and leaving at the top (where the neckline you have just formed is) an opening for the arms of about 20 cm.

And There you go ! I can put on my tunic , which has a fluid poncho shape, and which I can wear next to the skin or over a tank top with thin straps. For seamstresses you can also sew a satin bias in contrasting color around the neckline.
