Quooker Flex; why this quooker is my favorite

Who doesn't know him, the Quooker! This faucet has been master of the kitchen for years and with the Quooker Flex they have designed a fantastic faucet, don't you think?

To be honest, we haven't had a Quooker for that long. This boiling water tap has been on my list for years. However, when we had our new kitchen installed (9 years ago, still in our old house), the money ran out. Later we definitely didn't want a second hole in our countertop † About two years ago, however, I found out that a second hole with the Quooker Flex is not necessary at all!

My heart is lost on the Quooker Flex boiling water tap

From that moment on, the Quooker Flex was at the top of my wish list for household appliances. At the end of the year, the Christmas bonus went directly to this boiling water tap. I spoiled myself and the rest of my family with the Quooker. And then we moved…

It may be clear that we were not planning to move, but it turned out that way. And of course our new house didn't have a boiling water tap in the kitchen. What a loss! I had agreed with myself that the wait for a new Quooker Flex should not be so long this time. And I kept to that.

Install the Quooker Flex yourself or have it installed?

I can now say that Frank is adept at connecting the Flex variant of Quooker. He has installed this crane twice in two years and with great success. The first time we actually did it together with a lot of research but this time Frank did most of it alone. The topper!

It's also true that once you've done it, it's easier a second time. Even though the situation under the sink may be different. But the explanation that comes with it is also very clear.

If you don't quite come out with the explanation on paper, you can also watch the instructional videos on YouTube.

The only difference with installing the Quooker Flex yourself and the video above is that the workspace in your own sink cabinet may leave more to be desired. Frank had to twist himself in all kinds of turns 😉 .

Hint: make sure you have a bowl to hand have and some extra copper pipe to put in between. The latter is not supplied with the Quooker but is undoubtedly necessary to install the Flex. Furthermore, is a lamp handy to shine in the cupboard and of course you can't forget to close the main tap 😉 .

If you want to place the Flex in the same group as the dishwasher, make sure you use a combi switch when installing the Quooker † This ensures that when the dishwasher requires full power, the Quooker is on standby for a short time. In practice, this sometimes means that you have to wait 5 minutes before you can use your boiling water tap.

It will take you a few hours to install the Quooker yourself, but then you also have something. Would you rather not do it yourself? Then ask a plumber in your area.

Advantages of the Quooker Flex

Well, I have now told you why the Quooker Flex was the best choice for us (one mixer tap on the sink and no second hole), but the Quooker Flex has even more advantages. I'll list them for you:

  • If you are a tea drinker and regularly use the kettle, the Quooker is cheaper to use.
  • Better for the environment because the Quooker also saves water. You can quickly put up too much water with a kettle.
  • Your water is immediately ready for use, so you are ready faster
  • Very safe to use due to the special way you press the button of the Flex Quooker (press and turn). Small children are thus not at risk.
  • Space-saving on your countertop.

The reason we chose Combi+ Flex and not the cube

So many boiling water taps so many opinions. There is a type for everyone and one is even better or has even more functionalities than the other.

I think the Cube sounds very attractive, but because we already have a sodastream ourselves, the Cube doesn't have many advantages for us. In addition, you need even more space in your kitchen cupboard for that tap than for the Quooker Flex Combi+.

We chose the Flex variant because I find it extremely convenient to be able to pull out the hose and spray through the sink to clean. In addition, the water reservoir of the coffee machine fills more easily.

The Combi+ is also a conscious choice. This uses the boiling water from the Quooker if you need hot water from the tap. So you use your Quooker more intensively, not only for boiling water, but also for hot water. The energy needed to keep the water at the right temperature comes from our solar panels and we don't need extra gas to run the hot water from the tap. So quite environmentally friendly!
