Cleaning hacks for the bathroom

The bathroom is perhaps the dirtiest room in your house. And now that spring cleaning time has arrived, it's time to tackle that space, too. So here's a list of bathroom cleaning hacks that will make your bathroom sparkling clean.

1. Before cleaning your toilet, put two Alka Seltzer tablets in the toilet. Then clean it with a toilet brush after fizzing for a sparkling new shine!

2. Use toothpaste to clean the iron stains in the sink and tub.

3. If your chrome fixtures look dull, polish them with baby oil and a sponge.

4. To clean soap scum from glass shower cubicles, liberally sprinkle soda on a microfiber sponge cloth and rub lightly. Then rinse to a sparkling shine!

5. If you have a stubborn stain in your bathtub, dampen the surface, sprinkle with baking soda and rub with the cut surface of a lemon.

6. Clean the shower every time you shower yourself. Before you get out of the shower, spray it with a 1:1 vinegar and water mixture and wipe it off with a squeegee.

7. Use a scrub brush and your regular glass cleaner for annoying hard water spots on clear shower doors. Spray the cleaner and then gently scrub with the brush. Once a week keeps the stains under control.

8. Hot water doubles the effectiveness of cleaning agents. Fill the bottom of the tub with a few inches of the hottest water you can get from the faucet and let it sit for a few minutes. Then dispose of it and start scrubbing!

9. To remove encrusted hairspray from the bathroom door or wall, mix fabric softener with some water. It will dissolve the hairspray.
