This is how you decorate the living room with plants

No house is complete without beautiful greenery. And while some of us are lucky enough to have a backyard or balcony, most of us need to bring the outdoors in with houseplants. Houseplants not only make every room come to life, but they are also a trend in the interior. Plants help purify the air in your home while adding a cosy, lively element to your interior. If you want to add houseplants to your space but don't know how, here are some ideas for decorating your living room.

Hang them up

If you don't have enough floor space and don't want to sacrifice that space for a pot with plants, hanging plants could be an alternative. It is not only an ideal way to save space, but also an easy way to brighten up the room. But make sure you hang the pot properly to avoid accidents.

Put a group of small plants together

Put a group of different small plants together to create a whole. Think succulents, cactus and aloe vera. Instead of aligning the plants, arrange them in a group. Spread out their pots and place slightly larger, taller houseplants in the back and smaller ones in the front. Place them in different pots, bowls and vases to create a nice atmosphere.

Fill in empty corners

In the living room there are certain corners that remain empty. These are perfect for placing a plant. Choose a larger size to fill the entire space/corner, such as the monstera hole plant, which can grow nice and high, and is a real eye-catcher in the house thanks to the separate leaves.

Use a plant table or plant rack

Today there are various plant tables and plant racks available in all kinds of sizes, shapes and colors. So you will always find one that matches your interior. You can present plants in a fun, simple way on a plant table, and you immediately have a nice decorative piece in your home.

Add some color

When looking for plants to decorate your living room, it's always good to remember that green isn't the only color you should be looking at. Flowering plants such as orchids give extra color to the room and are not for nothing the eye-catcher in many homes. With their beautiful silhouette and bright, attractive colours, no matter where you place them, they make a statement that will turn heads and brighten up the room, and with good care they can last a long time.
