What decoration for the kitchen?

Two big questions arose when I embarked on the renovation of my kitchen. Should I adopt the decoration according to my appliances or should I define the style of the room first and choose the appliances afterwards?

When there is no need to change your household appliances

As I had just renewed my household appliances ten months ago, the reorganization of the kitchen consisted mainly of repainting and replacing the furniture in it. Fortunately, as all my appliances are made of stainless steel, the redecoration was not a problem for me at all.

So as we installed a small dining room in the room, for the walls I decided to favor warm colors to change from the clean and immaculate white of before. And after hesitating for a long time between orange and green, my choice definitely fell on apple green for the dynamism and cheerfulness that this color breathed into the place. Guaranteed effect! However, for small kitchens, nothing beats neutral colors if the objective is to enlarge and illuminate the room.

A mural that also harmonized perfectly with the new flooring, since instead of the tiles that were already starting to wear out, I opted for parquet. More specifically blond oak, a hardwood species sought among other things for its great resistance to wear and external aggressions, not to mention its great ease of maintenance. However, before preferring wood, I almost fell for vinyl, which is currently the favorite material of decorators. But unfortunately the patterns available on the market were not in harmony with my household appliances.

Finally concerning the furniture, so that the furniture blends completely with the household appliances, this time I let myself be tempted by stainless steel. Base and wall units, worktop, islands, wall shelves and cupboards, everything is in stainless steel. Even the faucets and the waste bin have gone there, except for the fronts and the doors of the furniture, which are, on the other hand, in oak.

Choosing the style of the kitchen

However, if with the reorganization of the kitchen the owner must also renew his equipment, the choice is very wide in terms of decorative style. The trick? To avoid bad taste, only combine materials that go together naturally.

Despite new trends in decoration, a traditional style kitchen is still very popular for its warm and friendly side. But for me, a warm and elegant rustic kitchen can only be achieved through the use of wood. A material that must be ubiquitous both for the work plan and in the dressing of the room to name only the baseboards, the curtain covers and the cornices. Don't forget to lay terracotta tiles on the floor.

Regarding the fridge, the oven and other household appliances, those with copper tones will be perfect. To make it easier for you, I recommend that you go to the Pixmania website. In addition, old furniture such as the scale counter, the dresser, the old sideboard and the farmhouse table will easily find their place there.

Do you dream of a contemporary kitchen? Modernity, design and technology are the key words of this style of decoration. This is also why I hesitated for this kitchen, since nothing should be left to chance. Anyway, concrete is one of the most common materials in modern kitchens. Then choose built-in appliances.

Finally, people who want to try their hand at minimalism will favor clean lines and sobriety by limiting the presence of decorative objects and accessories as much as possible. For good reason, the concept consists above all in optimizing space and making the most of natural lighting. Household appliances will therefore be limited to the basics.
