For traces of red wine, it is possible to clean with Marseille soap. Simply apply the wet soap to the stain and then rinse with the help of a damp sponge. You must systematically rinse the sponge with clear water. If the mark left by the wine does not disappear, another solution is to rub it with a sponge and a solution of white vinegar mixed with water. This technique can effectively clean various other stains.

If it is a dark carpet, the dirt can disappear under the effect of mineral spirits which must be left to stand for at least an hour and a half. Then rub the affected area with a cloth previously soaked in water. On light carpets, a mixture of soapy water and a few drops of ammonia is effective in getting rid of all stains. Then simply rinse with a damp cloth.

If you want to renovate your carpet, but you do not want to go through the services of a professional, certain techniques can help you. For example, you can make an infusion made from potato peels. Dip your sponge in the resulting solution and scrub your carpet. After a few hours, rinse it off with a damp sponge.

In case you want to revive its colors, you can use baking soda with sparkling water. Moisten, let dry then brush gently. Another trick is to apply a mixture of ammonia, water and sawdust to your carpet. After brushing the carpet, all that remains is to vacuum it.
