Consider decorating your hallway

Since we only sneak past, many of us do not give importance to the decoration of the hallway. Despite everything, furnished with taste, this space will help to enhance your interior. Follow me for example!

The layout of the hallway

It is not surprising that many of us neglect the layout of the hallway, since the place is only a passage point to access the other rooms of the house. Moreover, I noticed that the corridors, especially when they do not directly serve the entrance, are often gloomy and poorly lit. Yet this area is an untapped space in your home.

By thinking carefully about its layout, it can easily be transformed into a living space or why not into a functional room. As for me, I have already converted my hallway into a library. To do this, I had wooden shelves built in the same color as the wall so that the furniture blends in perfectly with the decor. So, at the same time, I also solved my book storage problems.

And to make my library a den of reading, I installed a very comfortable old sofa that I recovered from a friend. Alternatively, a hallway can also accommodate an office area. That's what my neighbor did. Personally, I would not have set up a workspace there. Indeed, since the room is a place of comings and goings, it will be really difficult to concentrate in a place that is always busy, but above all very busy.

Hallway decoration

However, if your hallway is small and cramped or you simply do not want to arrange it, this does not prevent you from taking care of its decoration. And already, as far as its wall covering is concerned, sad paintings are to be avoided. Do like me and play with colors. To both enlarge and illuminate the room, I preferred white.

However, I brought touches of gaiety to certain sections of the walls by painting them in acid tones. Some owners even dare to use original wallpapers and themed stickers, because in the hallway, all fantasies are allowed. Otherwise, why not also opt for a decorative floor. I invested in a richly patterned rug to dress the wooden floor of my hallway-library.

To conclude, I will insist a little on the lighting of the hallway, since in 90% of individuals, the device is generally limited to a timid ceiling light. However, this place must be well lit so that the inhabitants of the house can circulate there safely. So, for my long hallway, I opted for a row of LED spotlights. And if you have high ceilings, you can afford chandeliers and pendant lights.
